CORRECT USE OF PROPAFENONE

OVERDOSE

Symptoms of overdose, generally more intense in the first three hours after ingestion, include:

hypotension
drowsiness
bradycardia
conduction disturbances
convulsions (rarely)
serious ventricular arrhythmias (rarely)

The infusion of Dopamine or Isoproterenol has shown to be effective in correcting hypotensive-bradycardic syndromes.

In the case of sustained ventricular tachycardia electrical cardiac conversion is needed.

Convulsive crises can be treated with intravenous Diazepam.

In very serious cases of overdose mechanical ventilation and heart massage may be necessary.
